But the Story Didn't End That Way
An educational unit on the Kristallnacht pogrom and the persecution of German Jewry. Despite their patriotism and contribution to their country, German Jews were targeted for persecution from the beginning of Nazi rule in 1933. State laws stripped them of all civil rights and means of employment. The Kristallnacht pogrom of 1938 – ‘the night of the broken glass’ – marked the apex of the pre-war persecution of German Jewry.
The unit contains:
18 posters depicting German-Jewish life in the 1920s up to the Kristallnacht pogrom of 1938
A teacher’s handbook with testimonies and suggestions for class activities
40-minute film of testimonies of Jews who lived through Kristallnacht.

Return to Life
This curriculum focuses on how the remnants of the Holocaust emerged from the abyss of the ghettos and the death camps to rebuild their lives anew. Liberation did not end the agony of the Jews. When the survivors returned to their native lands, they found their families destroyed and their homes inhabited by other people. Some, as in Kielce, Poland, were brutally murdered. The refugees languished in Displaced Persons’ camps dotted across Europe until they were able to immigrate – legally or illegally – to the Land of Israel and other countries and return to life.
The unit contains:
20 black-and-white posters (35 x 50 cm)
60-minute documentary film in VHS or DVD
A teacher’s manual with testimonies, articles, maps and suggestions for class activities
