European Educators

Within the framework of the ICHEIC Program for Holocaust Education in Europe, the European Department conducts seminars for European educators in their respective educational fields and encourages the creation of professional networks. In addition, the Department develops interdisciplinary study material for teachers and students alike in approximately eighteen European languages.

Who We Are - The European Department

The European Department of Yad Vashem's International School of Holocaust Studies (ISHS) was established in 2005 with the aim to empower educators with pedagogical tools and didactic methods to teach about the Holocaust. Our Department tailor makes materials and methods for the European educators; many of our materials are adapted culturally and developed in multiple languages. We have resources in over 20 languages with a number of sub-sections on our website.

Overview of the European Department’s Activities

The European Department equips teachers with pedagogical tools and skills needed to teach the lessons of the Holocaust, in order to safeguard human rights and to enable students to form deeper levels of understanding.
