Welcome to the 17th issue of Teaching the Legacy. This edition focuses on the subject of Germany, 1933-1939. “When Their World Changed”: Teaching about German Jewry between 1933-1939
It is important to look at the unique situation and experience of German Jews who felt the brunt of the legal changes in the place they called “home.” Their experience did not begin with ghettos and deportations, but as early as 1933 when the Nazi Party began their policies of exclusion and boycotts of Jews.
